He also graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 1994 with a BA in history and a minor in broadcast communications. Following graduation, Chris spent nearly three years in professional radio as a sports director & lead play-by-play announcer for high school sporting events in southern Ohio. In May of 1996 Christ moved on to serve 3 years as Youth Pastor at Liberty Grove Church of God in West Monroe, Louisiana. He was ordained as a minister in the Church of God while living in Louisiana in 1998. In April of 1999 Chris went on to serve as the Youth and Christian Education Pastor at First Church of God in Winchester, KY. until Nov. 2004. Next he became Lead Pastor at Tionesta Church of God in Tionesta, PA where he served until being called to serve at South Memorial in 2007.
Along with serving as Lead Pastor, Chris has spent 6 years serving as a member of one of the Ordination & Licensing Teams & 4 years as a member of the Department of Ministry Services Team both with Indiana Ministries of the Church of God. He has also had the opportunity to fill in and provide the public address for several New Castle High School athletic events over the years. Chris loves the people of South Memorial & the community of New Castle and he considers it an honor and blessing to seek to serve them in Jesus' name.
Above all else, Chris is committed to being the best version of an ambassador of Christ's compassion and love that he can become--seeking to be on mission with and for Jesus through the wisdom and strength of the Holy Spirit. Chris is equally committed to inspiring and leading those who the Lord has placed along his daily life's pathway to be and do the same.
